His wife, Elizabeth, is also passionate about ministry—she holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

OUR
BELIEFS
We believe the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the inerrant and infallible word of God.
We believe that the One True God exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All existing at the same time making up the Holy Trinity.
We believe Jesus to be God and became flesh by a virgin birth. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary death for our sins, His bodily resurrection and ascension. We believe Jesus will return one day in power and glory.
We believe in an essential and eternal salvation by grace alone can only be received as a gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
We believe in the one true church as the Body of Christ, made up of believers who are being equipped to do the work of ministry. We believe the church is locally autonomous and functions through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. We believe in two church ordinances; a believer’s baptism and Communion (the Lord’s Supper).
We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believe it should be presented, preached and shared with all people everywhere. We believe it is the privilege of believers to engage in mission and discipleship locally, nationally and internationally.
OUR
HISTORY
Our Story
The Well officially became The Well in January 2021, but our history in Alamogordo goes back to 1994, when we began as New Life Baptist Fellowship. Our church was originally planted out of a few home groups meeting together in the early 90s. God provided land, and soon after, the building we still gather in today was built.
Over the years, our story has included seasons of growth and challenge. By the mid-2000s, membership declined and pastoral transitions became frequent. Yet through it all, a faithful core of believers continued to serve and pray for God’s direction.
In 2019, Pastor Dusty R. Marshall moved from Fort Worth to Alamogordo. While serving in pulpit supply across Otero County, he was invited to fill the pulpit at New Life. Later that year, he answered the call to become pastor, and together with both long-standing members and new faces, the church began a journey of replanting.
In January 2021, with a renewed vision and a fresh start, our church became The Well. We chose this name because of the words of Jesus in John 4:14: “But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again.” Today, we continue to pursue that vision—to glorify God, to be refreshed in Christ, and to invite others to come and drink from the living water.
