To fulfill the great commission to go make disciples, baptize, and teach through the generations while reaching out to our local community and world for God’s glory.

Our Pastor

Dusty has served as pastor at The Well since December 2019. He and his family moved to Alamogordo from Fort Worth Texas where he served as a family and associate pastor. Before that he served here in New Mexico as a pastor in Hobbs NM and a collegiate ministry director for the Baptist Convention of New Mexico before moving to Fort Worth. Dusty is a graduate of Gateway Seminary, in Ontario California, with a Masters in Theological Studies. His wife, Elizabeth, attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Fort Worth Texas, where she earned her Masters of Arts in Christian Education. They have three children Collin, RaeLynn, and Madilynn.

BELIEFS

The Bible

We believe the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the inerrant and infallible word of God.

The Trinity

We believe that the One True God exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All existing at the same time making up the Holy Trinity.

Jesus

We believe Jesus to be God and became flesh by a virgin birth. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary death for our sins, His bodily resurrection and ascension. We believe Jesus will return one day in power and glory.

Salvation

We believe in an essential and eternal salvation by grace alone can only be received as a gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.

The Church

We believe in the one true church as the Body of Christ, made up of believers who are being equipped to do the work of ministry. We believe the church is locally autonomous and functions through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. We believe in two church ordinances; a believer’s baptism and Communion (the Lord’s Supper).

The Gospel

We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believe it should be presented, preached and shared with all people everywhere. We believe it is the privilege of believers to engage in mission and discipleship locally, nationally and internationally.

OUR

HISTORY

The Well officially became The Well in January of 2021. Before that we were known as New Life Baptist Fellowship. Our body of believers has a history that goes back to 1994 here in Alamogordo New Mexico. Originally being planted out of a few home groups that had begun meeting in some of our earliest members home. During the early 90’s we acquired the land and started building the building we are currently in. While the original vision was to eventually expand and start a school as well, much began to change. Through the years people came and went. By the mid 2000’s membership dropped and pastoral transition continued to happen. In 2019 our current Pastor Dusty R. Marshall had moved from Fort Worth to Alamogordo and began serving in various pulpit supply roles throughout Otero County. While doing that New Life was pastorless and Dusty began filling our pulpit. After a few months Dusty answered the call to become our pastor in December of 2019. With that it was decided we would begin the process of replanting this local body of believers. With some new fresh faces and with those who had continued to serve this body we got started. We began to refocus on our first love and continue to strive to bring God glory here in our community. With replanting came change and a new start as The Well. So now we strive to continue giving God glory as we invite all to The Well and as Christ said in John 4:14 “never get thirsty again.”
